What Is Market Cap Delta?

Market cap delta is the change in estimated market capitalization over a period. It is a way to observe market repricing, not proof that literal cash entered or left a stock.

Why It Matters

The metric gives market behavior a comparable yearly layer beside revenue, profit, operating cash flow, assets, liabilities, and equity.

Simple Example

If estimated market cap rises from $2.0T to $2.4T during a fiscal year, the market cap delta is roughly +$400B for that period.

Important Limitation

Market cap delta should be described as implied market value movement, not literal fund flow.
